Bloubergstrand is situated on the Blaauwberg Coast about 20 minutes drive from the Cape Town city centre and about 30 minutes from Cape Town International Airport.
Much of Bloubergstrands' attraction lies in its white sandy beaches from which the view of Table Mountain and the city of Cape Town is quite spectacular. The historic Robben Island can also be seen quite clearly from Bloubergstrand.
Blouberg offers a variety of water and land activities for the serious sport enthusiasts as well as those who enjoy a gentle stroll. Big Bay in Blouberg is world famous for international surfing competitions and Small Bay next to it, is a quieter family spot. The modern Eden on the Bay shopping mall is conveniently situated close to the beach.
Koeberg Nature Reserve has two hiking and mountain biking trails which meander between the West Coast Strandveld and Dune Veld indigenous flora. Animals to look out for include the Grysbok, Steenbok, Springbok, zebra and Mongoose. 153 Different species of bird life have been identified. Don't forget to pack your picnic basket as there are plenty of coastal barbecue or braai spots along the way at Eerste Steen and the like.
Bloubergstrands' close proximity to the City Centre also make it a great location when visiting the Cape. Bloubergstrand has a marvelous array of restaurants, cocktail bars and coffee shops, including Ons Huise, an original fisherman's cottage at the water's edge where you can savour a seafood feast whilst enjoying the views and sunset.
Other activities include golf, nature walks, bird watching, Rietvlei wetland, fitness centres, medical facilities, and many more attractions. .
Surrounding vineyards in the Durbanville area offer wine tastings and restaurants.
